Clean Up The Hutt 2025 ran on PurposeTech with Hutt City Council support: 302 volunteers checked in across 9 sites, 2,656 kg of litter removed, and 28 organisations taking part.

Who holds the contract – the council or a community partner?
Whoever fits how the event is run. Sometimes the council subscribes directly; sometimes a charity or delivery partner holds the subscription with council support behind it. Clean Up The Hutt 2025 ran on PurposeTech with Hutt City Council support. We are flexible about the arrangement.
Does a second event in the same year cost more?
No. The subscription is annual, not per event. Run a clean-up in autumn and a civic day in spring on the same subscription, and clone this year's setup when next year's event comes around.
Can we use it for emergency and civil-defence volunteering?
Yes, for non-frontline coordination – clean-ups, welfare checks and community response, not frontline search and rescue. Councils treat the subscription as preparedness: set up sites, roles and comms templates before you need them, and when a flood or storm hits, activation is switching a campaign live rather than building one. The spontaneous surge of people signing up to help after an event is exactly the surge the platform is built to absorb.
What about accessibility and reporting?
Volunteers register and manage their shifts through plain, fast web pages that work on any device. On the day, coordinators check volunteers in at each site, and afterwards you can report participation by site – who registered, who checked in, and where – for the council report and the community.
