What counts as an active volunteer?
An active volunteer is someone who registered through the platform and confirmed or attended their shift. No-shows, cancellations, and duplicate registrations don't count. You only pay for people who actually showed up.
Do I need a credit card to get started?
No. Create an account with just your email address – there is no card to enter and nothing to cancel. Every new account gets a personal onboarding call: we set you up, give you a proper walkthrough of how it works, and answer your questions before you commit to anything.
Should I pay annually or monthly?
Both options include the full platform. The Starter plan is NZD 59 a month or NZD 500 a year, and the Growth plan is NZD 299 a month or NZD 3,000 a year – so paying annually saves roughly 15-30% compared with 12 monthly payments. You can switch between monthly and annual billing from your account settings.
What's included in every plan?
Every plan includes the full platform: Street Appeals, Event Volunteering, custom branding, automated emails, real-time dashboards, and Salesforce integration. There are no feature walls.
Can I switch plans?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime from your account settings. When you upgrade you're prorated for the difference; when you downgrade the change takes effect at your next billing date.
What if I want to cancel?
Cancel anytime from your account settings – no dark patterns and no phone calls required. You keep access until the end of your billing period, and we'll help you export your data.
Can we use PurposeTech outside New Zealand?
Yes. PurposeTech is fully self-serve, so you can sign up, set up a campaign and run it from anywhere. Plans are priced in New Zealand dollars (NZD), which often works out favourably against USD or GBP budgets, and volunteer data is hosted in Australasia (AWS Sydney).
Where is our volunteer data stored?
Volunteer and campaign data is hosted on Amazon Web Services in Australia (Sydney, ap-southeast-2). PurposeTech is built in New Zealand and is designed to support New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and Australian Privacy Principles requirements.
